The intention was to exhibit and showcase the different stages of conservation work carried out on site by the CHC team which could serve as a guide for owners of other heritage buildings in Dharmaj who wish to conserve their respective properties.

Mukhi Delu was also part of one of the four heritage walks that were also conducted by students of the Masters in Conservation and Regeneration (MCR) course, Faculty of Architecture, CEPT University on the following themes.

  • Dharmaj in the presence of absence (curated and conducted by Vishvesh Pathak)

  • Art Deco in Dharmaj (curated by Pranjali Mathure, Priyanka Baghel and conducted by Priyanka)

  • Tobacco as Industrial Heritage (curated by Bhanumathi V and conducted by Amriteshwari Arun)

Alongside the open house, a session for young students was organised at Mukhi Delu under the Young Heritage Explorers' Program (YHEP). Designed and conceptualised by Prof. Gauri Bharat at CHC, the YHEP aims to introduce young people to heritage sites and educate them about the significance of history and conservation in our contemporary lives. As part of this program, school students of Tri Gi Mishra Shala and VN High School at Shri M.D. Sarvajanik Pustkalay (a public library in Dharmaj) were invited to take part in activities with the aim of spreading awareness on the urgent need for conservation of heritage in our fast changing world. The Young Heritage Explorers Program was organised with the support of Dharmaj Kelavani Mandal and funded by the heirs of Kalidas Jethabhai Patel.
