Kalidas Jethabhai House - Flat jack test for compressive strength

To check the compressive strength and built on the existing wall of the structure the flat jack testing was performed on 12th February 2024.

Two walls were selected to perform the testing; Wing-1 east wall from internal side and wing-2 third unit internal north wall. The selection was based on the condition of masonry in that area. The walls were stable to withstand the testing procedure without risking further damage. The walls were easily accessible from both sides to facilitate the installation of flat jacks and hydraulic equipment. Both the walls had sufficient thickness to accommodate the flat jack and allow for accurate measurement of stress distribution.
