Kalidas Jethabhai House - Dismantling work at Front wing (Phase 1)

The first phase of conservation work on the front wing of Kalidas Jethabhai House, CEPT Conservation Site School in Dharmaj, commenced in December 2023. The wooden structure of the front wing is currently being off-loaded by carefully dismantling dilapidated portions, non-structural elements and walls to allow for a detailed condition assessment of the existing structural wooden members. The dismantling work is being carried out by Gandhi Construction Company under the supervision of the CHC team.

The process involves labelling all wooden members that are to be dismantled with unique codes before removal, followed by packing and stacking them in the material shed constructed on the premise of Kalidas Jethabhai House, for subsequent reuse.
