Jaigarh Fort - Master's in Architectural History and Research
CHC-CRDF with the support of Jaigarh Public Charitable Trust (JPCT) has offered the Jaigarh Fort as a site for the Masters in Architectural History and Research Studio on 'Private Property: Public Property - The Complicated Nature of Architectural Heritage'. The studio aims to problematise the relationship between the fort and its broader environment, encouraging alternative readings and interpretations that extend beyond traditional narratives and perspectives of the fort.
Here are some glimpses of the students' site visit from 12th-17th August. With the Jaigarh Fort as the central focus of the field studies, students explored various other sites and institutions in Jaipur to gain deeper insights into the medieval history of the fort and the city. These explorations are integral to the studio's objective of recontextualising Jaigarh Fort within its wider socio-cultural and geographical framework.
The lecture series was facilitated by CHC-CRDF as one of the academic components under its wider collaboration with Jaigarh Public Charitable Trust (JPCT) for the Sustainable Conservation of Jaigarh Fort. It was intended to enhance students' interpretation of the site and its context. Each lecture was designed to give students a deeper understanding of the complex relationships between architecture, history, and society. (refer to attached link)
